Some local councils offer schemes and grants for the planting and care of Traditional Orchards. They are more likely to exist in regions where orchards are a significant feature of the landscape. Listed below are some of the schemes that are available, but there maybe more so it is always worth contacting your local council to enquire.
Kent
Landscape Enhancement Grants are available within the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The scheme covers hedge planting, restoration of cobnut plats and work on Traditional Orchards. There is an upper limit of £1,500 per grant. The Sustainable development Fund offer grants to organisations, businesses, community groups and individuals allowing them to develop practical projects that enhance, conserve and develop the environment, economy and way of life. Grants of up to 75% are available.

Norfolk
Norfolk County Council have a scheme that contributes to capital costs for work that contributes towards the conservation of biodiversity. The planting of new orchards with Norfolk varieties is supported by the scheme.
