We have followed reccommendations to make the Orchard Network website easy to use for everyone. If you have any questions or remarks about accessibility on the website, please let us know.
Site Structure & Navigation
Our Site is structured so that each page is has an appropropriate amount of content to avoid too much scrolling. We have done our best to make the navigation simple and intuitive. The 'bread crumb' lines at the top of the page will help you see where in the site you are and how you got there. Internal links will be highlighted to allow you to jump to different parts of the site that are relevant to the content you are reading.
Search Function
Use the Search field at the top of every page (right hand corner) to find specific topics quickly.
External Links & Downloads
Orchard Network has a large number of external links and downloads, and it is our intention that it acts as a 'portal' to the sites and resources of a large number of groups and organisations that work towards the conservation of our Traditional Orchards. External links & downlaods will always be found at the foot of the page, marked in red with a bird in flight.
Descriptive alternative text for images
We use descriptive alt-text for every image in the content of each page. The website stays meaningful with images turned off.
Font sizes
All font-sizes are scalable. If you want to adjust the font-size, hold the CTRL-button on your keyboard, while scrolling up/down with your mouse (CMD-scroll on if you use a MAC). See your browser's help file for more information (try searching for 'font-size' or 'accessibility').
HTML and CSS
All HTML and CSS on the site has been validated.
